Love and Loss
Her
story reveals a love story that ended in the tragic and unexpected death of her
husband, Steve, in a car accident during their retirement vacation. She has
written this book to memoralize her life and love with Steve and to encourage
others (widows included) to live one day at a time, leaning on Jesus. Her
adoration and commitment to Steve are evident. Going back to their days when
they first met, her book is a joy to read, offering hope in love, family and
trust in Jesus.
Now
retired, Jan Hurst and her husband, Steve, were married for over 44 years. They
raised a family together, grew together, supported each other through college and
careers. They were dedicated to becoming better people together, having both
survived collateral damage from abusive family atmospheres and strived to be
the opposite of what they were shown growing up. Their story is triumphant and
an encouragement to all families that gives hope of the good times in life. As
she states, there are ups and downs, and that time does not heal, but we learn
to adapt and trust our loving Father one day at time.
Jan
Hurst besides being discouraged from attending college in her era because she
was a girl, decided that such was not the case with her. She and Steve worked
and earned their Bachelor Degrees, and Jan went on to earn her MBA and a PhD in
Business Management. She worked many years in the corporate environment in the
IT arena and learned persistence and perseverance pays off. She is now retired
and has written to encourage all to put their faith in Jesus Christ because we
have no guarantee of our tomorrows.
